 Andrea Becker was born and raised in Lexington, KY. She attended the University of Kentucky, majored in psychology and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. She has worked in the mental health field for the last 17 years.
Andrea is a self-taught artist who has continued to develop her style and skills over the years by attending various classes and workshops to learn new techniques. Although she has experience in a wide variety of mixed media, her current body of work focuses on leather sculpture. During her years in Arkansas, she was a member of the Mid Southern Watercolorists Association and studied with mixed media artist, Caren Garner. Caren’s guidance and encouragement has influenced Andrea to turn what was once a creative hobby into a promising career.
Andrea’s art is enjoyed by private collectors internationally. Her award winning work has been exhibited at juried art shows and fairs in Ohio, Arkansas and Kentucky. It can also be seen at Gallery Janjobe and Rayluma Gallery Louisville, KY, at CoBe Gallery at 315 at The Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati, OH, and at Pendleton Art Gallery in Newport, KY.
